If you'll recall, I lost my best buddy, my black and white cat 3 weeks ago after a short illness. "Sorry you lost your buddy," it said - and I nearly broke into tears.
She knew that I was missing him and the plant was to help remember him. Because it's a hardy mum, it will survive the winter outdoors. I'll have to look for a spot to put it in my garden as a memorial for him.
This card is for her. The flower embellishment is the same color as the flowers of the potted plant.
I used the sketch challenge with I Spy Sketch here
Technique:
Base card is Raspberry Ripple, layered with Whisper White and then a layer of Twitterpated designer paper.
Three of the images are 1" squares of twitterpated paper (different patterns), and the other 3 are stamped images. I used markers directly onto the stamps. The images were cut out using the 1" square punch and layered with the Postage stamp punch.
The flower was made by punching out 3 Scallop circles in Raspberry Ripple. These circles were crumpled, crimped, bunched up i.e. distressed++. Each circle was peeled into 2 layers. These 6 circles were lightly spritzed with water and when still slightly damp, a brad was inserted in the middle and each layer was brought up and pinched tighly forming the flower. The petals were then relaxed until the desired shape was attained. The finished flower was spritzed with Vanilla smooch. It was hot glued to the card.
Stamp: Pretty Postage
Ink: SU markers (Raspberry ripple, Gumball green)
Papers: Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White, Twitterpated designer paper
Accessories: 1/4" stitched white ribbon,1" square punch, Postage stamp punch, Scallop circle punch, brad, Vanilla smooch, rhinestones.
