Teacher Appreciation Gift & Card

I was helping a friend pack as she is moving today.  She had some little (not the mini) bottles of unscented hand sanitizers that she was going to throw out.  Instead I took some and started looking for a tutorial on making a hand sanitizer tutorial.  There were a lot for the mini bottles, so I adapted those tutorials and made a holder for the bottle I had.  Then I made a 3 X 3" card (with matching envelope) to go with this gift.
I thought this would make a great gift to give to a teacher  - for the teacher to use so that hopefully he/she won't get some many 'colds'.  Hand hygiene is so important.
For this project I used the color challenge with Create with Connie & Mary here .  These colors are:  Riding Hood red, Baja breeze and Peach Parfait.

Stamps: Punch Potpourri, Afterthoughts, Countryside, With all My Heart
Inks: Riding Hood Red, Baja breeze, Markers (Baja Breeze, Peach Parfait)
Papers: Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze, Peach Parfait, Peach Parfait designer paper (from paper pack)
Accessories: Large Heart Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Baja Breeze seam binding, rhinestones, dimesnionals, Envelope 3 1/8 X 3 1/8", 1 3/4 X 7/8" oval punch

Cut a piece of Riding Hood Red Paper 2 1/2" X 11.
Score at 1/2", 1 1/2", 3 1/2",4", 9", 10"
Cut an additional 2 1/2 X 4" piece of Riding Hood Red .

Use the 1 3/4 X 7/8" oval punch to punch a hole between the 1/2" and 1 1/2" score lines overlapping the 1 1/2" score line a little bit.
Fold all your score lines.
Place sticky tape on the 1/2" piece , fold it over and attach it to the 6 1/2" score line.
Attach the additional piece of Riding Hood Red at the 9" score line.
Decorate.  Put a piece of velcro on the flap to keep it closed.

Here the holder is opened .  The Hand Sanitizer fits nicely in the opening made by the oval punch.
I added an additional  piece of Baja Breeze card stock which I scalloped with the Scallop border punch.
You can see the placement of the velcro

The card is 3 X 3" and fits nicely in SU 3 1/8 X 3 1/8 envelope.  The envelope is also decorated.

The inside of the card - again decorated to match the outside.  There is plenty of room to write a personal note to the teacher.

Thank you for this idea! My son is in a team of 80+ kids, with 1 male and 3 female teachers. I had thought about making mini sanitizer holders for them, but all the minis I have are pretty "girly" - it's hard to come up with something that will work for men and women at the same time! I'm going out at lunch today to see if I can find some, so I can try this out. I made backpacks to put handmade chocolates and a gift card for coffee (we're in Seattle, so of course it's for coffee), but wanted something more and I think this will fit the bill perfectly! :-)
