No. 1 - Unscripted Sketches #106 and Blog Candy

It took me a while to figure out what I was going to do with the sketch  with Unscripted Sketches here
and then I thought of a technique I hadn't used for a while- bleaching and then re-adding color. I hope no one minds but I put the sketch on its side.

Stamp: Sail Away, Grunge Rock
Inks: Black Stazon, Soft Suede, Markers (Basic Gray, Real Red)
Papers: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree Designer Paper, Marina Mist
Accessories: Square Lattice embossing folder, Texturz Plate (background), Eyelets, Twine, 3/4 X 15/16" punch, bleach, dimensionals

The image was stamped with Black Stazon on Marina Mist card stock.  Using a small paint brush I applied ordinary household bleach to the sails only.  When the paper was dry, I applied some basic gray  using a marker and Aqua Painter for a shading effect.

Here is a close up view of the twine and sailor's knot.  You also have a better view of the bleaching effect on the sails.

Great card! I've used the Texturz plate that you used to look like woodgrain, but you've made it look kind of like waves in the background. The bleaching is interesting. That's something I haven't tried yet, but I always like the look when I see it. stampin_sue@nc.rr.com
