Fancy Round Flower Box - UDI Color Challenge #28

I saw a video by Dawn  here on how to make a fancy round flower with designer paper, and really, really wanted to make it.  The Utah Divas International color challenge was the perfect opportunity.  The challenge, here called for the use of the following colors - Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Whisper White and Basic Black - a tall order. Knowing I wanted to make the fancy round flower I decided to make a 3D item rather than a card.
So, I used the Bitty Box & Envelope die and the Big Shot, to make a box using Regal Rose card stock.
On the lid of the box I put a layer of basic black card stock, followed by a layer of Pink Pirouette which was embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder and sponged with Regal Rose.

Here is a side view of the card.
The flower is made using Nite Owl designer paper (which is black and white with bits of Old Olive in it).  It is mounted on a round scalloped piece of Botanical Gazette designer paper, the edges of which awere sponged with Old Olive ink.  The Old Olive leaves were cut free hand and sponged with Old Olive ink.
I colored the Vanilla rosette with a Regal Rose Marker, & added a 3/8" pink taffeta ribbon bow.  The sentiment is from Tiny Tags and punched with the Jewellery Tag punch.

In this top view you can really see the structure of this spectacular flower.  I punched a 1" black circle for the center and inserted an Old Olive glimmer brad in it before attaching it to the flower with glue dots.

A close up of the flower.  Isn't it gorgeous?  It's a lot of fun - and easy to make.
