Build a Blossom

All of my company finally left this morning and we had a wonderful time celebrating the Holiday season.  I hope all of you did as well.
Now I can get back to card making and posting.
Today's post uses the new punch Blossom Petals Punch and the stamp set Build a Blossom, both  from the new Occasions Mini Catalogue which officially starts tomorrow January 4, 2011.
I cased it from this new catalogue from Page 12, although I changed the colours of the flower.
The petals were stamped using Rose Red ink using the 2 stamp method. The leaves were stamped with Wild Wasabi and Old Olive.
Top Layer:
First I inked my stamp, stamped off on a scrap piece of paper, then stamped on Whisper White card stock 5 times  After inking up the stamp a second time I stamped over the original image - lining up the images by eyeballing it.  A stamp-a-ma-jug could be used if you wish, but the clear stamps are so nice to work with I didn't need to use it.  The images were then punched using the Blossom  Petals Punch.
Bottom Layer: Five petals were stamped with Rose Red Ink only stamping the image once - then they were punch out.
Leaves: I used two stamps for this - a solid stamp and a stamp that had the leaf veins in it.  The solid stamp was inked with Wild Wasabi and stamped 3 times on Whisper White.  The second stamp was inked with Old Olive and stamped directly over the other 3.  The images were then punched out using the new punch.
Center: The image was stamped with Old Olive ink and punched out using the 1/2" round punch.
Putting the flower together:
Using a round 1 3/8" circle (whisper white) as a base, I used tombo glue to glue the bottom petals to the edge of the circle, applying glue to only to the tip of the petal.  The top layer was then attached using the same method, off setting them from the bottom petals.  The center was attached using a dimensional.
The leaves were glued on last.  After letting the glue dry, I attached it to a 4 by 4" card - Marina Mist matted with Early Espresso.

Love the card with the elagant pink flowers and petals. Really looks so neat the way you have done it with the stamping and punching. Came together nicely.
