Nature Sings - a Masculine Christmas card

This stamp set is in the Annual Catalogue, which has surprised a lot of clients I have talked to.  I just love the stately "elk"?? and it doesn't have to appear only on Christmas cards.
However, for today's purpose this stamp set is being used as a Christmas card.

The image in the art piece was coloured with watercolour pencils and an aqua painter.  It was die cut using the Circles Framelits and the edges sponged with Soft Suede ink.
The smaller deer pairs  and trees were stamped
n a separate piece of Whisper White card stock - the trees using Always Artichoke ink.  I decided to use only one of these deer, so after colouring it, I fussy cut it and placed it in front of the stamped trees.  This was die cut with a smaller circle, the edges sponged as well.

The card base is Soft Suede, layered with Whisper White card stock embossed with the Woodlands embossing folder.  I ran an inked sponge lightly over the raised images to bring out  the pattern a bit more.
On the left side a piece of Wood DSP was added, and the main art piece was adhered partly over this DSP and partly over the embossed layer.
In the upper left corner I added 3 pine branches die cut using the Pretty Pines thinlets and tied with some red glitter trim.

A bit of Dazzling Diamonds on the ground and the trees, and the card is done.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Nature Sings
Inks:  Black Memento, Soft Suede, Watercolour Pencils, Always Artichoke
Papers:  Soft Suede, Whisper White, Wood DSP, Garden Green
Accessories:  Woodlands Embossing Folder, Layering Circle Framelits, Layering Oval Framelits, Pretty Pines Thinlets, Red Glitter trim, Dazzling Diamonds.

Elegant Thinking of You

This card is a more elegant version of the card I made yesterday, where I embossed and bleached the image from "Count Your Blessings".  The combination of Very Vanilla, gold and a touch of green makes this card "elegant".

I apologize for the weird colors.  Shiny foil paper does not photograph very well.

The base card is Wild Wasabi card stock, layered with Very Vanilla embossed with the Layering Leaf embossing folder.

In the center is a strip of Painted Autumn Specialty DSP with gold foil scallops (die cut using the Layering Seasons Framelits) on both sides.

The art piece image in the upper circle was initially stamped and coloured with water colour crayons and an Aqua painter. It was die cut with layering circles framelits, and layered with a slightly larger gold foil circle.

I stamped the image a second time and embossed it with gold embossing powder.  After colouring it with water colour pencils, it was fussy cut and layered over the original image using dimensionals.  Some 1/8" gold taffeta ribbon was tied into a bow and added to the stem with a glue dot.

I gold embossed the sentiment, die cutting it with layering oval framelits and matting the oval with a gold foil scallop paper.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Count Your Blessings

Accessories:  Seasonal Layer Framelits, Layering Circle Framelits, Layering Oval Framelits, 1/8" gold taffeta ribbon, Gold embossing powder, Dimensionals, Layering Leaves Embossing Powder

Pretty Kitty Baby Cards

Just to show you how versatile the Pretty Kitty stamp set is, I made some baby cards.  The layout for all the baby cards is essentially the same - the colour scheme however is different depending on the gender of the baby.

  • This card is obviously for a girl.  I used blushing bride, embossed whisper white layer, and a 2" piece of blushing bride DSP notched with the Triple punch.
  • On the new Whisper White doillie is the art piece - a pretty kitty coloured with a blender pen and die cut with the layering circles framelits
  • The sentiment is from "And something more" and is punched using the retired ticket punch.
Here's some more cards:
