Watercoloured Flowers using Flower Shop stamp set - ShoppingOur Stash #335

This month, at Shopping Our Stash the challenge is to use water colours.
I coloured these flowers using daubers, waterbased inks, and  water spritzers- water colouring them. See Tutorial on my tutorial blog: here

Flowers:
Each flower was stamped with Versa Mark ink on Whisper White card stock, using the Flower Shop stamp set, and embossed with Black embossing powder.
Because I could not find my Pansy Punch, I fussy cut each flower.
Then using an ink dauber and Marina Mist ink, the outsides of each petal were coloured.  To add contrast, some Night of Navy was sponged along the edges.  Some Daffodil Delight was daubed in the center.
Each petal was spritzed with water, then dried with a heat tool, after which they were shaped, had 3D Crystal Lacquer and Dazzling Diamonds applied, and set aside to dry.

After they were dry, a small Faceted gem was added to the center of each flower.

Leaves:
The leaves were punched with the Leaf Punch using Whisper White card stock.  Old Olive was applied to the leaves and stems, followed by Always Artichoke.  They  were then spritzed with water, dried, shaped, and each leaf folded in half lengthwise and the fold sponged with Always Artichoke.

The card base is Soft Sky, layered with Whisper White card stock embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder.

In the center is a strip of  Petal Garden DSP which has a strip of Soft Sky card stock punched with the Decorative Ribbon punch on each side.

The flowers and leaf stems were added to the center strip using a hot glue gun.

The sentiment is from Vertical Greetings.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Flower shop, Vertical Greetings
Inks:  Versa Mark, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Always Arttichoke, Black Memento
Papers: Soft Sky, Whisper White, Petal Gardens DSP
Accessories:  Black Embossing Powder, Decorative Ribbon punch, Leaf punch, Water spritzer, 3D Crystal Lacquer, Dazzling Diamonds, Hot glue gun, Faceted Gem, Flower shaping tools, Petal Burst embossing folder.

Gift of Love - SUO Challenges #171

The theme this week at SUO Challenges is "A Favorite April Theme".  There's no secret of my love of flowers, and April is a month when flowers begin to grow and bloom in my garden and the bees begin to return.

So, a flower, with bees, is my favorite April theme.

The flower was stamped using  the 2-step stamping technique using Flirty Flamingo and Garden Green inks. I touched up the flowers with coordinating colored markers, and some blue coloring was added to delineate the shadows. And of course I had to add a cute little bee which I colored with markers.

Some texture was added using the Timeless Texture "dot" stamp.

The image was die cut using the Labels framelit, matting the top and bottom with Flirty Flamingo card stock. It was added to the card front using dimensionals.

Whisper White cardstock with a 2" piece of diagonal striped Flirty Flamingo DSP constitute the card front. A piece of 3/8" ruched Flirty Flamingo ribbon was placed along the edge of the DSP, and a bow made with that ribbon adhered to the lower edge of the die cut image.

A vertical sentiment is placed on the left side of the focal image, with an image of a bee on both ends.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Gift of Love, Timeless Texture, Vertical Greetings
Inks: Black Memento, Flirty Flamingo, Garden Green, Markers (Flirty Flamingo, Always Artichoke, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Soft Sky)
Papers: Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo DSP
