You Inspire Me - At the Beach - a challenge card for Just Add Ink #759

Hot  Hot!!  The temperature has been unseasonably hot this summer inspiring most of us to head to the beach  where hopefully the breeze over the water makes it feel a little cooler.

The heat wave we are experiencing inspired me to make this card, which I will be submitting to challenge #759 at Just Add Ink.

The challenge at Just Add Ink was to create a project choosing two of the below themes.  I chose "Beach and Water". Just using those two words makes me feel cooler.

I used several stamp sets to create my card- "Summer Moon" by Rosewood Stamps (Frog"s Whiskers Ink) and "Under the Moon" by Stampin UP.

On a Soft Suede card base I added a layer of Basic White. Using a blender brush, I added a light layer of Misty Moonlight for the sky and a darker layer below that for the ocean.

To make the beach, I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake card stock which I had cut in a wavy pattern at one of the long ends, with the Plaster Painting 3D embossing folder. Then with a finger dauber I lightly brushed crumb cake ink over the surface to highlight the embossing making it look like beach sand. This was added to the bottom of the Basic White piece below the ocean.

The large moon image which I used as the setting sun, was stamped with Mando Melody ink, die cut using the coordinating die and adhered it with the bottom edge below the sand.

Three clouds from "Under the Moon" were stamped using Misty Moonlight ink and die cut.  They were added to the sky using dimensionals.  The image of the sailboat from the same stamp set was stamped in Basic black ink, die cut and added in front of the setting sun with dimensionals.

The umbrella and beach chair was stamped from the "Summer Moon" stamp set from Frog's Whiskers.  I modified this stamped image so only the beach chair, beach ball and umbrella remainded.  The rest of the stamped image was trimmed away. Stampin Blends were used to colour those images. They were placed on the sand using dimensionals.

The sentiment is from "Inspiring Imperfections"
