A Rocking Card for Baby's First Christmas - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #479

I have never made a rocking card (Schommelkart) before, but after reading several tutorials on You Tube it turned out to be quite an easy card to make. I decided to make the Rocking Card  rather than another card shape, as I had a baby card in mind, particularly baby's first Christmas.

I made this card for the sketch/technique challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #479

The card was made by die cutting a series of circles in decreasing sizes layered on top of each other. I used the Layering Circle dies.

For the base I used the largest of the circle dies, scored and folded it in half. This is the basis of the rocker card. If placed on a surface open ends down it will rock.

The next layer was die cut with a circle die about 1/4" smaller than the base, using the snowflake pattern from the Trimming the Town DSP.  This was cut in half, with one half adhered to the front, and and the other half on the back.

For the art piece, a 2 1/2" circle was die cut using glitter foam and a 2" circle in Misty Moonlight card stock.  These were adhered together and tiny snow flake dots were added with a fine tip white deco pen.

On a separate piece of Whisper White, the image on the bunnies was stamped from "Wildly Happy" stamp set using Black Memento, and the Christmas trees  from "Snow Wonder" in Shaded Spruce ink. The Bunnies were coloured with  Stampin' Blends and fussy cut. The trees were also fussy cut and some Dazzling Diamonds added to the 'snow'' areas.

The trees were added to the Misty Moonlight matted circle with the top of the trees extending over the top and right side of the circle.  Dimensionals were used to adhere the bunnies below and to the left of the trees and some left over glitter foam was added below them.

The finished smaller circles are then added to the center of the base making sure the ''rocker' was balanced.

Four snowflakes were die cut using glitter foam and added to the rocker base. Five stars were die cut using the So Many Stars die - 3 in Whisper White, and 2 with gold glimmer paper. Four were adhered together with the gold glitter one on top,  with one of the tips adhered to the top of the smaller circle.  The 5th gold glitter star is added to the back of the other stars.

To finish the card, rhinestones are added to the center of each snowflake, along the bottom edge and some randomly around the bunnies.  A double bow made with the 1/4" whisper White crumpled ribbon Is added above the bunnies on the left.

The sentiment, from "Unto Us" is white embossed on a scrap of Misty Moonlight card stock, matted with left over glitter foam, and adhered to the lower left base.  I had to round the  corner of the bottom edge so that the card could rock.
