Beautiful Autumn Thinking of You - Fab Friday Color Challenge #196

Today I thought I would challenge myself and make a card using the color challenge at Fab Friday here.

The colors for the challenge are:  Cajun Craze, Cinnamon Cider, and Bumblebee beautiful Autumn colors.

I did not have any DSP in these colours, so I decided to make some of my own, using the stamps from "Beautiful Autumn" stamp set.

Starting with a 3 1/2 by 5 1/2" piece of Whisper White, the fall images from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set were randomly stamped in the colors of the challenge. To finish this hand made DSP, the edges were sponged with Cajun Craze, with some Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee sponged further from the edge, leaving the center fairly light in colour.

A Cinnamon Cider die cut was adhered along both long edges of a strip of this hand made DSP,  and added to the Whisper White layer with dimensionals.  The Whisper White cardstock was embossed the smaller Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folder . There are two embossing folders in this set designed for the small Die cut and Embossing Machine (not yet available) but can be used in any die cut machine, including the Big Shot.

The card needed an embellishment, so I made a vase and placed 3 die cut twigs in it.  The vase was made with Cinnamon Cider card stock which was punched with the Tailored Tag Punch and cutting it in half.  This I embossing it with the other Wrapped in Texture embossing folder, and edges sponged with Cajun Craze ink.  This was decorated by adding a tiny strip of Cajun Craze card stock just below the top edge and a small Bumblebee flower added just below that. Punch a scrap of Cajun Craze card stock with a hand held punch, and the tiny circle punched out was used for the flower center. To finish, some glimmer Crystal Effects was applied.

The 3 die cut twigs (one in each of the three colours) - die cut using one of the Roots in Nature dies, was added to the vase.

Two punched Oak Leaves were added above the vase.  They were punched from the Autumn Splendor DSP using the Oak Leaf punch.

The sentiment is from the Life is Beautiful stamp set.

The DSP is great! I think the sponging in the open spaces really gives it a nice finished look! The vase is great too...nice way to show off some smaller die cuts! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!
