Fancy Holiday Tag - The Paper Players #225 & Merry Monday #138

I started designing this tag this morning, but I had an afternoon appoinment a 45 minute drive away.  Only it snowed last night, and was still snowing this morning.  My son was good enough to shovel the driveway, but hurried into the house stating "The snow plough is coming!!"  You know what that means!  All the snow from down the street gets dumped into the mouth of my driveway, and with the amount of snowfall we had, the snow would be piled up to my hips.  So, I had to hurry into my car and vroom it out of the driveway while I could.  Just made it too!
On the way to and from my appointment, I did some thinking about the project I started - a fancy tag in Whisper White, gold, silver and a third color (which I decided was going to be Blush Blossom).  I thought that would go nicely with the challenge with Merry Monday here  only I made it a New Year tag.
The challenge at the Paper Players #225 here is to make a holiday project that is extra fancy - black tie in fact.

Here is what I came up with:

I made the Whisper White tag and silver cap using the tutorial I wrote in in this blog post
I layered the tag with All is Calm DSP (silver) and die cut 2 leaf branches using silver foil paper.  It's interesting that when I die cut these leaf branches, the various wrinkles etc in the cutting plate were transferred to the foil leaf.  Quite neat!  These leaves I adhered to the tag using tombo glue.

Four flowers were made using the Spiral Flower die - one using Decorative silver vellum, one using Gold foil paper, one using Gold Soiree DSP, and one using All is Calm DSP (silver).  I made a smaller flower in Blushing Bride, using the 7/8" scallop circle punch.  I cut 2 leaves from the Vellum silver stripped paper and adhered them under the flowers.

To add some more of that 4th colour, I scalloped a piece of Blushing bride cardstock using the scallop edge punch and attached it just below the tag topper, and put rhinestones in each of the scallops.  In addition, I punched 3 tiny Blushing Bride ornaments with the tiny ornament punch punch and placed them on the tag as if they were hanging on the branches of the leaves.  A rhinestone was placed in the center of these as well.

A piece of 1/8" silver taffeta ribbon and a piece of 1/8" taffeta ribbon were inserted through the hole in the tag topper, tied, and the long ends allowed to hang over the tag.

The sentiment was stamped in silver encore ink on Whisper White, matted with gold foil paper, made into a banner and adhered to the bottom right tag using glue dots.

Here's a list of the supplies I used:
