Hydrangea Birthday - Sketch Frenzy Friday

The sun has been a bit stronger this week, and the skies were mainly blue - almost spring-like if it weren't for the cool temperatures.  My green thumb is itching to be out in the garden.
Today is Friday, and time for another challenge with Sketch Frenzy Friday.  Today's sketch is by our very talented Patrice.

03/29/13 Patrice

The card base if Primrose Petals layered with  Whisper White  cardstock embossed with the Framed Tulip folder.  The insert layer is Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP.  Somehow I just feel like spring!  A stitched Primrose Petals satin ribbon was attached to the right end of these 2 layers.

The image was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Black Stazon ink, and coloured using ink pads and an Aqua painter.  Dazzling details were added to the inside of the flowers which had been coloured yellow with a Daffodil delight marker.  A 2 1/2" circle punch cut out the image and then it was trimmed according to the sketch.  Using the circle template, the image circle was pierced around the outer edge.  It was then attached with dimensionals to a 3" circle of Primrose Petals which I also trimmed to match the top circle.  This unit was attached to the DSP with the cut edge abutting the embossed edge.

Three embossed Primrose banners were adhered to the left edge of the card, and large rhinestones attached to them.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, punched out with the Word Window Punch, and layered with a Primrose Petals Word Label punchie.

Here's a summary of the supplies/materials used:

Stamps: Best of Flowers, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Black Stazon, Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Certainly Celery, Old Olive
Papers: Primrose Petals, Whisper White, Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP
