Strangely it's my birthday this week as, as well as 2 of my friends, so making this birthday card was very timely. I'm going to have to make a couple more, but this is a start.
The challenge with the Friday Mashup here is not only to make a birthday card, but it make it using pastels. I used Stampin Pastels with a blender pen to color the focal image.
Stamp: Crazy for Cupcakes
Inks: Black stazon, Stampin Pastels
Papers: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Fabulous Florets Designer Paper
Accessories: Square Lattice embossing folder, Liquid applique, rhinestones, dazzling details, 5/8" White Grosgrain ribbon, Tasteful Trim die

Is the liquid applique what gives the cupcake frosting it's texture? That's very neat! Thanks for sharing!
Love it!

Happy Birthday Maria!! I guess January is a busy birthday month for a lot of us. I love that icing on your cupcake.. and the pastels really gave it a nice soft feel. Thanks for joining us this week at the Friday Mashup.
That icing is amazing! Great birthday card.
Love the poofy frosting. It's been a while since I tried that technique; I forgot how cool it looks! Thanks for joining us at The Friday Mashup!
I have also used the liquid applique but have used my last drop. I have went to JOAnns to find more and they no longer carry it and tried online but cannot find it. Do you know where I can purchase it? E-Mail me at kejm2000@yahoo.com Kathleem Miller. I have used it on my stampin up cupcakes many times.
