It's Friday, and time for Sketch Frenzy Friday's mini blog hop.
Today is also the day I am having my surgery - which started at 8 this morning - so by the time you are reading this post I will be out cold. Hopefully there are no complications this time. Two weeks in bed with my foot elevated - a daunting thought. I'm such an active person that is the part that will be the hardest.
Today's sketch is by Tammy Fife
Here is my interpretation:
I just love this little bird - a Vermillion flycatcher. We don't see them in this part of the country Wish we did as I would love him to visit my back yard! This bird has very brilliant plummage - poppy parade, with a dark brown head and black wing and tail.
Thursday and Friday of last week I sold cards in front of a beauty salon and sold quite a few cards In between customers I painted this bird with SU markers and an Aqua painter. It was stamped with Black Stazon ink on whisper White card stock.
After coloring the image it was matted with Early Espresso card stock and then mounted on a Poppy Parade Scallop Square which I made using the Scallop Square duo die. The mat pack and paper piercer was used to pierce holes in the middle of each of the scallops. 1/8" Early Espresso taffeta ribbon was adhered to the bottom on the image, followed by the flowers. The focal image unit was attached to the designer paper using dimensionals.
The card base is Whisper White, followed by Poppy Parade and then Poppy Parade designer paper from the Paper Pack..
All edges were sponged with Early Espresso ink
The flowers were punched with the Itty Bitty flower punch; the Early espresso centers are the eyes of the Two Step Owl punch. A pearl in the center completes the flower unit.
Stamps: Young Vermillion, You're a Gem
Inks: Black Stazon, Markers (Poppy Parade, Early Espresso, Basic black, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip)
Papers: Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Early Espresso
Accessories: Scallop Squares duo die, Mat pack and paper piercer, Itty Bitty flower punch, Two Step Owl punch, pearls, 1/8" Early Espresso taffeta ribbon, White gel pen (the eye), Aqua painter, dimensionals, glue dots
