Since Sharon Field posted the "Butterflies in Flight" with a tutorial on her blog I have wanted to make those wonderful winged creatures. This colour inspiration challenge by Stamping 411 provided the perfect opportunity.
For the past several days I have been enamored by the Stone Wash technique for making backgrounds, and I chose this method again.
The colours for this challenge: basic black, pink passion, only orange, and green galore.
The background uses the following reinkers with rubbing alcohol: green galore, pink passion and only orange.
The Upsy Daisy stamp was stamped with black Stazon ink.The butterflies, using the All in a Flutter stamp, were stamped on vellum with Versa mark and embossed with black embossing powder.
The colour of the butterflies, reflect the colours of the challenge. Highlighting was done with a white gel pen. Please check Sharon's blog on how the butterflies were made.
They were mounted against the colourful sky using glue dots. The image was matted with green galore and mounted on a basic black cardstock base. Ribbon is SU black satin.
