Celebrate Ontario - the Trillium - 411 Sketch Challenge
It's amazing what ideas I come up with when I am sleeping - well trying to sleep. I tore a cartilage in my left knee in March and have been on crutches ever since, so tire easily.
During this afternoon's nap, a vision of the trillium kept flashing through my head, and I even visualized the punch I could use the make it. Incredible!!
Once I was awake enough, I started making this beautiful wild flower that is the province of Ontario's official flower - and is blooming in most forests right about now.
I punched 2 flowers using the 5-petal punch - one in whisper white card stock, and one in old olive(for each trillium) Cut out 1 petal . Then glue the right petal over the left and secure with a paper clip. Before gluing two petals together, I punched a tiny hole at the end of the cut. The stamens would enter through this. I retrieved the stamens from a fabric flower that was about to be thrown out (i.e. it was recycled). Because they were pink, I painted them yellow.
Stamp: Everything Nice
Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White, Walk in the Park designer series paper, Very Vanilla
Punches: 5-Petal Flower punch, word window, modern word label
Other: Olive green satin ribbon, Elegant bouquet embossing folder, vanilla smooch spritz
This is a close up of the Trilliums

This is absolutely gorgeous! I especially love the colors. Can you believe my flower beds were buried under inches of snow for the second time in two weeks! Gotta love Vermont!
lovely flowers; they look complicated, but thanks for sharing; it seems lately the punches are getting allot of the spotlight & I'm glad.
Lovely card Maria - I like the flowers on the left side! Very pretty!
This is beautiful! I love the embossing, and the flowers are so sweet. Thanks so much for playing along :)
of all your flowers I like your trilliums the best. You do a great job.
