Another Christmas Card using Watercolor Lifting Technique

The colours of this Christmas card are not your usual or traditional Christmas colours.

When I started to make the watercolour paper image panel, I used the following markers:  Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo, Flirtatious Flamingo, Blushing Bride, hoping that the darker colours would dominate.  Instead when I was finished, the panel looked decidedly pinkish!  But I went ahead with the technique anyway.

Image Panel:
Again, I used the tutorial by SCS .
The stamp set I used was "Peace This Christmas".  The images were randomly stamped using Versa Mark ink and then clear embossed.  When finished it was matted with Flirty Flamingo card stock and adhered to the card front using dimensionals.

Here is a close up of the image panel:
I hope I'm the only one who can see the "boo boo's"

The base card is Flirty Flamingo.  Centered on that is a White Doilie.  A strip of Flirty Flamingo DSP matted to a slightly larger piece of Whisper White card stock and a piece of 3/8" Very Vanilla stitched satin ribbon was wrapped around it. Some left over ribbon was tied  into a knot and attached using a glue dot. This unit was then centered on the Doilie and adhered to the card front.

The sentiment from "Versatile Christmas" was embossed with gold embossing powder, die cut with the layering ovals framelit, and layered with a slightly larger Whisper White scalloped oval.  It was adhered using dimensionals.

To add a little bling, I added some metallic enamel stars in a random pattern.

Peace this Christmas - Watercolor Lifting Technique

I saw this technique on Splitcoaststampers and wanted to try it using the "Peace This Christmas" stamp set.
It's really easy to do and the outcome is delightful - a little messy but delightful!

This is the completed card.  The base is Cucumber Crush layered with Whisper White embossed with Stars embossing folder.

The image panel is watercolor paper upon which the technique was done.  Again, check the tutorial with splitcoaststampers.
After it was dry, the image panel was matted with cucumber crush card stock and a 1 1/4" piece of Cucumber Crush DSP adhered to the left side
Both of these were adhered to the card front after which a 3/8" ruffled cucumber crush ribbon was attached.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set was embossed with gold embossing powder.  It was die cut and matted using the layering ovals framelits.

Adhered to the bottom of the sentiment are 3 pine cones embossed with gold embossing powder and cut out.  They were adhered with glue dots.  Three metallic enamel star shaped accents were placed on the sentiment oval.
