A Silhouette Adventure

Isn't it amazing that when you look closely at both sides of the DSP you begin to see all sorts of different possibilities.

When I looked at the reverse side of one of the Perennial Essence DSP I saw a  beautiful night sky with fireworks going off in the distance and an idea was born.

This is what I came up with:

When I saw this pattern of the Perennial Essence DSP I knew that the silhouettes against this night sky would be perfect.

Two children, one pointing to the sky and the other playing a flute, were black embossed on this background.  The area around them was die cut with a stitched rectangle die and a Basic Black frame was placed around this panel.  This made it look like the children were standing in the doorway looking up to the sky.

I adhered this framed panel to a larger piece of the same DSP, and added 3 glitter die cuts which resemble bursting fireworks.  These I coloured with the Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blend - just to make them  blend in a better. Strips of Basic Black card stock were also added along both long edges of this DSP.

The sentiment "Adventure" was die cut using Blushing Bride glimmer paper with a Sweet Silhouette die.  It was adhered to a piece of vellum card stock notched at both ends and then to the card front at an angle over the bottom of the image panel.

This entire unit was added to a Whisper White card stock layer which was adhered to a Basic Black card base

"Forever" in Silhouette - Hand Stamped Sentiments #317

This card was made for the sketch challenge with Hand Stamped Sentiments #317.  Because I wanted to use an image from the new Silhouette stamp set I took the liberty of changing the orientation of the oval focal piece.

The Night of Navy card base was first layered with Whisper White card stock and then 2 panels of different sizes of "See a Silhouette" DSP was added.   Each DSP panel was matted with Night of Navy card stock.  The image piece was added to the card front using dimensionals and overlap both DSP panels.

Wrapped around and added to the lower portion of the left panel is a piece of 3/8" Curry Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon and bow made from the ribbon.

Image:
It's been a while since I used the Brusho Crystals, but I used them now to create a light watercolor background wash on Water color paper.  Later I realized that I could have used the "See a Silhouette" DSP as one of the patterns looks much like a Brusho background.

Against this watercolor wash background, the image of two people under an umbrella was embossed using black embossing powder.  I added some sparking stars in the background using the new Shimmer White embossing powder.  The embossed image was die cut using a Layering Oval die, and matted with a slightly larger Night of Navy oval.  The two oval pieces were adhered together using dimensionals after which it was added to the card front.

Sentiment:
After die cutting the word "Forever" from the "Sweet Silhouette" dies and Poppy Parade card stock adhered to a piece of adhesive sheet (retired), I added to some Vellum notched at both ends to give it some stability.  I then added it  over the lower part of the image piece.

To finish the card I added some Old Olive enamel dots to the lower bottom right of the card front picking up the Old Olive colour in the DSP.
