Graceful Glass Vellum - Sneak Peak new vellum DSP

My Dad made some wonderful Stained Glass window hangings, and almost 20 years after his death I still have them hanging in my window.

There's an enduring nature about this artistic medium, and for Stampin' Up to bring out a 6 by 6" Vellum pack of various patterns to color is absolutely marvelous!

Coloring can be done with markers, watercolor pencils, blender pens, but for me the preferred method are the Blendabilities.  They are not available for ordering until June but I managed to get some earlier so I am using them to color this stained glass image.

The card base is a top folding Bermuda Bay card, layered with a Striped embossed Whisper white layers.

The stained glass vellum (there are 2 images on a 6 by 6" page) was colored on the wrong side using blendabilites.  Then I matted it with glimmer paper leaving a1/8" margin around the outside before adhering it to the card front.  Some Clear Wink of Stella on the flowers and butterflies completed the picture.

The sentiment is from "Love What You Do"- and is stamped with Bermuda Bay ink on Whisper White card stock - and added to the card top using dimensionals.

To finish the card I added some  Bermuda Bay enamel shaped embellishments.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Love What You Do
Inks:  Bermuda Bay, Blendabilites
Papers:  Graceful Glass Designer Vellum, Whisper White, Glimmer Paper, Bermuda Bay
Accessories:  Stripes embossing folder, Bermuda Bay Enamels shapes, dimensionals, Clear Wink of Stella

Watercolor Wings - Just for You

Yes the retirement list is out, and one of the stamps on the list is one on my favourites - "Water Color Wings" on Pg. 134 as well as the accompanying "Bold Butterfly Framelits" on Pg. 213.  I do so hate to see them go, so today I am making a card with this favourite of mine

The Stamparatus makes triple stamping so much easier, so of course I used this new tool to stamp the butterfly.  I stamped it in now time!

Colors for the butterfly, in the order stamped:  Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Tranquil Tide
Sentiment stamped in Tranquil Tide.

The butterfly was die cut with the retiring Bold Butterfly Framelit, and adhered by the body of the butterfly only, to a delicate doillie which  was placed on top of a Lots of Labels framelit which I embossed with the Striped Embossing Folder.

Some glitter enamel dots were added to the bottom and top butterfly wings.

The base card is Berry Burst, layered with Whisper White and then Fresh Florals Specialty DSP (Berry Burst).  Some 1/4" Metallic Edge Berry Burst was added to the left side of the card , wrapping it around the Whisper white and DSP layers.  A bow was added at the top.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Water Color Wings
Inks:  Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Tranquil Tide
Papers:  Berry Burst, Whisper White, Fresh Florals DSP
Accessories:  Bold Butterfly Framelits, Labels Framelit, Stripes Embossing Folder, Glitter Enamel Dots, Stamparatus, Doillie

Gently Falling - Inkspirations Challenge #89

This was a fun sketch challenge to do.

Stamps: Gently Falling, Day of Gratitude
Inks: Early Espresso, More Mustard, Pool Party
Papers: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Autumn Spice designer paper,  Very Vanilla
Accessories: Linbes embossing folder, Word Label Punch, 1 3/4 by 7/8" oval punch, pearls, Crystal Effects.

The two step stamping method was used to colour the leaves.  They were first stamped with early espresso, and then stamped over with More Mustard, followed by pool party.  Each leaf was cut out and covered with Crystal Effects.
