A Wintery Thank You - Hand Stamped Sentiments #303

The challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments #303 is an Inspirational one.  And, since I am finished making my Christmas cards, I thought I would make a Thank you card.

The base card is Mossy Meadow, and the art piece was built on a 3 3/4 by 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I used the large tree stamp from "Winter Woods", stamping it with Mossy Meadow ink, and then stamping it and second and third time without inking up again.  On the ground below the trees I added some dazzling diamonds.

The bird was stamped and coloured with Stampin' Blends (Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight) on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, then fussy cut and mounted , using dimensionals, on a die cut circle  embossed with the Layered Leaf embossing folder.  I added a tiny pearl to emphasize the eye of the bird. This circle was matted with Lucky Limeade card stock using dimensionals and added to the card front.

Three Holly and Ivy images were stamped from "Spirited Snowmen", colored with Stampin' Blends, then fussy cut and added above and below the bird.

The sentiment is from "All Things Thanks"

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  All Things Thanks, Winter Woods, Bird by Stacey Stamps, Spirited Snowmen
Inks:  Black Memento, Stampin Blends:  Bird:  Calypso Coral (light and dark), Crumb Cake (light), Basic Black marker;   Holly and Ivy:  Granny Apple Green (light and dark), Cherry Cobbler (light and dark), Mossy Meadow

Spirited Snowmen and Bokeh Dots

In this card I combined the Bokeh Dots stamp set with the Spirited Snowmen.

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the Bokeh Dots (in this case a starry night) in Night of Navy ink, and clear embossed it while the ink was still wet.  With the stamparatus it was easy to ensure that the image was centered on the 3 3/4 by 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.

On a separate piece of Whisper White card stock I stamped and colored the image of the two "love bird" snowmen, then fussy cut  them and placed them facing the star studded sky (with dimensionals).  Some Dazzling Diamonds was added to both snowmen.

The sentiment was adhered to a piece of Night of Navy card stock that served as a bench for these two.

In both upper corners I added some holly and ivy, which I stamped and colored on a separate piece of card stock and fussy cut as well.

This Whisper White art piece was matted with a slightly larger piece of Night of Navy card stock, and added to the card front using dimensionals.

Before adhering the  Glitter glimmer paper to  the Night of Navy card base  I wrapped 5/8" crinkled Night of Navy seam binding around it and tied it into a bow on the left side.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Bokeh Dots, Spirited Snowmen
Inks:  Night of Navy, Black Memento, Versa Mark, Blends
Papers:  Night of Navy, Whisper White, Glitter glimmer paper
Accessories:  Clear Embossing Powder, Classic Label Punch, Dimensionals, 5/8" Crinkled Night of Navy Seam Binding, Dazzling Diamonds.

Put on a Happy Face- a Christmas Shaker

You can't help but smile when you see this snowman dancing with a smile on his face.  I thought he would be perfect in an interactive shaker card.

The snowman was coloured with blends, and the body painted with Frost White glimmer paint. I also painted the area around the snowman with the same paint.  Below the snowman I added some glitter texture paste.

The shaker  was formed in the usual way using Oval framelits, window sheet, and adhesive strips.  I used tiny white beads as the shaker elements. The snowman looks like he's having fun throwing those beads up in the air.

A narrow oval ring was adhered around the oval window.

The basic card is Real Red card stock layered with Whisper White and then Under the Mistletoe DSP (two patterns with a narrow strip of Glitter glimmer paper between the two))

The sentiment, from the "Cookie - Cutter Christmas" stamp set is adhered to the lower right with a fussy cut holly and mistletoe as a decorative element on top.

In the upper left of the oval two pine branches die cut with the Pretty Pine Thinlets.  A bow made with 1/8" Real Red ribbon was adhered to the top.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Spirited Snowmen. Cookie-Cutter Christmas
Inks:  Black Memento, Blends
Papers:  Real Red, Whisper White, Under the Mistletoe DSP, Glitter glimmer paper
Accessories:  Pretty Pine Thinlets, Oval framelits, Window sheet, Adhesive strips, tiny white beads (non SU), Frost White  glimmer paint, dimensionals 1/8" Real Red Satin ribbon

Love Never Melts

The snowmen couple is soooooo cute!  And the caption for them is perfect.

My only problem when I was stamping them was - what were they looking at?  I suppose there's nothing more romantic than looking out a window at the stars- so that's the scenario I created for this card.

After colouring the couple, I fussy cut them and laid them aside while I created the window looking out at the stars.

Using the retired windows framelit, I die cut a window in some Wood Texture DSP and adhered a window sheet behind it.  Then on a piece of Night of Navy card stock that fit precisely behind the window, I white embossed some stars, using a stamp from "Waterfront".  This I then adhered behind the window.

The card base is Crumb Cake card stock, layered with Whisper White embossed with the Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder.

At the bottom I adhered the log pattern of the Wood Texture DSP cutting the top in an irregular manner, and cutting a place for the snowmen to sit.  Then another piece of the log DSP, cut into a strip of logs, was added on top of the other using dimensionals, making a seat for the two love birds.

The window was adhered above the logs, and the final placement was determined after the two snowmen were seated.  The snowmen were adhered with dimensionals looking out the window.  A spring of Holly and Ivy was placed on the upper right of the window.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Spirited Snowmen, Waterfront
Inks:  Black Memento, Blends to color the snowmen, Versa Mart
Papers:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Wood Texture DSP, Night of Navy, Early Espresso
Accessories:  Window Framelit (Retired), White embossing powder, Window Sheet, Dimensionals, Swirls & Curls Embossing folder

Joy and Peace - Spirited Snowman meets Winter Woods

I hate the thought of winter coming, yet I would be happy to say good bye to the relentless heat and humidity of this past summer.  Weather forecasters predict a very cold winter and lots of snow- starting in November and not letting up until March.

Which means that this card will soon depict some sort of reality.

Doesn't the snowman look happy?  Like he's almost dancing.

He was stamped and colored with blends on a separate piece of Whisper White, then fussy cut and placed against this backdrop of winter trees.

The trees, from "Winter Woods, was stamped in various ink strengths with Shaded Spruce ink.  Two other trees were stamped on a separate piece of  Whisper White card stock and die cut with the "In the Woods Framelit".  One I left the same size; the other I made smaller by cutting it  off 1/3 from the bottom.

I added the larger tree with dimensionals against the backdrop of the other trees.  To mimic snow I added some glitter texture paste and let it dry before adding the smaller tree more to the front.
The snowman was added, again with dimensionals, in front of both trees.  He appears to be holding the sign "Joy & love".

Using Pool Party ink, I stamped snowflakes in the sky above the trees.  Dazzling diamonds was applied to the snowflakes.
