Under the Sea - Hand Stamped Sentiments #291

This is my interpretation of the Inspiration Challenge with Hand Stamped Sentiments here

I must admit this one was a bit of a challenge for me but gradually an undersea scene emerged in my mind  and so did.  Using a Seaside embossing folder, some Balmy Blue card stock was first embossed and then had Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue ink randomly applied across the surface using a finger dauber. This layer was added to a Sahara Sand card base.

I pulled out the retired stamp set "So Many Shells", and my stamparatus and stamped 5 different shells, most in tones of blue/crumb cake or crumb cake and white.  All were hand cut and 4 were arranged on a 2 1/2" crumb cake circle the edges of which were sponged with Balmy Blue ink.  I also sponged he edges of each shell with Crumb Cake ink.  The 5th shell was adhered to the bottom of the water body on the left.

This art piece was adhered to the card front using dimensionals, after which some 3D lacquer was applied to the shells.

The sentiment was stamped with Black Memento on Balmy Blue card stock, the edges sponged  after which the art piece was  added to the card front just above the art piece.

Another Just Add Color card - leaves

We all like to believe there is good in the world-especially in light of the events in Toronto yesterday.

And coloring the leaves from the Just Add Color DSP was very relaxing and made me feel hopeful.

So that's the sentiment I put on the card today.

The "Just Add Color" DSP has 2 (two) 12 by 12 pages filled with leaves of all shapes and sizes to color.
These leaves were colored with various shades of green, yellow and gray Blendabilities and then fussy cut.
They were arranged and adhered to a Whisper White panel stamped with a Crumb Cake dots created   using the  "Playful Backgrounds" stamp set. Two wooden elements from the March Paper Pumpkin were embossed with white glitter embossing powder and added to leaves.

Some 1/4" white organza ribbon and bow was added to the bottom of this panel.

After matting this panel with Wild Wasabi card stock, it was  adhered to the card front using dimensionals.

The card base is Wild Wasabi card stock (which is retiring) layered with Whisper White card stock embossed with the Leaves Embossing Folder.  The sentiment is from "So Many Shells"

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  So Many Shells, Playful Backgrounds
Inks:  Black Memento, Blendabilities, Versa mark
Papers:  Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Just Add Color DSP
Accessories:  1/4" White Organza ribbon, Petals Embossing Folder, Wooden Elements from March Paper Pumpkin kit, Dimensionals, White glitter embossing powder

Just Add Color DSP - Tea Anyone??

In my previous post I showed several cards made using the Just Add Color DSP.

Warning!!! Coloring can be addictive!!

It's been a while since I just sat down and colored just for the sheer pleasure of it.  Once I started it was hard to stop.  I can certainly understand the fascination adults have with the coloring books that are now every where.

Today I selected the 12 by 12 page filled with tea pots, teacups etc. and colored only 2 images using Blendabilities.  After colored, the images were  I fussy cut and built into a card.

On a Melon Mambo card base I added a Whisper White layer embossed with the Ruffled embossing folder.  Along the bottom is a strip of Color Theory DSP with a piece of ruffled Night of Navy seam binding adhered over the seam.

A doillie, cut in half became the "table cloth" upon which the colored images were added.  To add interest and depth, I cut the scallop part of the remaining half and added it over the already adhered ruffle using dimensionals.  I colored the area around the base of the images with a Slate Gray marker in order to "ground" them. Clear Wink of Stella was applied to the cut out images.

Tutti-fruit self adhesive sequins were added randomly on the card front.

The sentiment is from "So Many Shells"
