Thinking of You - Petal Potpourri - Technostamper #360

Family problems have prevented me from being as creative as I would like to be.  Both of my sisters have been ill, and one of them is recovering nicely.  My other one, "not so much".  I get a phone call almost every day where she is in crisis and crying hysterically.  Kinda puts a damper on things.

Enough of my caterwalling!

Today's card is for the challenge with Technostamper who has decided to put out a sketch every 2 weeks instead of every week.  Good idea, as its less work for her.

Sale-a-bration is now over, so now I'm focusing on the Spring Catalogue.  The stamp set "Petal Potpourri" with its coordinating punch is used on this card.

The base card is Crisp Cantalope, layered with Whisper White, and then two patterns from Sweet Dreams DSP.  A strip of Smoky Slate, with one edge die cut with one of the Finishing Touches Edgelits was placed over the seam.

Over this Smoky Slate piece, I attached a 5/8" piece of White Organna ribbon dye coloured using a Crisp Cantalope marker.

The image was stamped with Crisp Cantalope, and punched with the Flower Medallion punch. The edges were sponged with Crisp Cantalope ink, and then curled up using a bone folder. The center of the flower was formed by a 1" Whisper White circle with the edges sponged with Crisp Cantalope, and a 3/4" circle which punched out the Hello Honey center.  Both were adhered together and then attached to the flower using a dimensional.  Dazzling diamonds were added to the center, and dazzling details around the edges of the flower.

The flower was added to the Smoky Slate piece with tombo glue.

Two Pistachio Pudding leaves were die cut using the Bouquet die and the edges sponged with Pear Pizzaz ink.  They were added above the flower using tombo.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, punched out with the Word Window punch, layered first with a 3/4 by 15/16 oval in Hello Honey, and then a Modern Word Label punched in Crisp Cantalope. This was adhered using dimensionals at either end.

Some small rhinestones were placed on either side of the sentiment, and three larger ones on the upper right.

Sending Wishes Your Way

This card was made using a new Technique - making backgrounds with blendabilities and alcohol on glossy cardstock.  I did a photo tutorial on my tutorial blog here as I couldn't get my video camera to work.  There's still some learning to do here.

I stamped 3 flowers from the "Petal Poutpourri" stamp set using black stazon ink onto one of my background pieces.  In this instance I used Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Wisteria Wonder.

The flowers were punched out using the coordinating punch.  The center of the flower was punched from a different part of the background piece that had more yellow on it.  First I used the 3/4" circle punch, and then the 1/2" circle punch.  They were adhered together, and then added to the flower with a dimensional.

The fern leaf is from "Butterfly Basics" and is stamped with Old Olive ink.  The fern beside it was stamped without reinking the stamp.

Once the ferns were stamped, I made an executive decision to use only 1 of the flowers as 3 made the card look too busy.  I added it near the bottom of the card using dimensionals.  A piece of melon Mambo ribbon was attached underneath the flower.

An itty butterfly was stamped and punched out with the Itty Bitty Butterfly punch and added to the top left of the card using a glue dot.
