Baking a Gingerbread Man Cookie - Paper Players #373

I don't always have time to bake for the Christmas holidays, but it was something I always did when the children were growing up.  Now that they are grown up and moved away there is only myself to bake for - too many tempting calories for me.

So the only consistent baking I do is on paper.

Today I made a Ginger bread man cookie for the theme challenge with the Paper Players #373  which is "Christmas Baking"

The gingerbread cookie was die cut in Crumb Cake card stock  using a Sizzix die.  The markings on the arms and legs and the smile on its face were made using a white ornament marker.  A gold glimmer bow tie was adorned around his neck.

Before adding him to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock he was sponged with Soft Suede ink, as were all the other elements of this card.

The card base is Crumb Cake card stock. layered with Very Vanilla card stock. Two different patterns of retired DSP, once of which happens to have images of a ginger bread man in it, as well as a Real Red banner, form the back drop for the focal image. The vertical piece of DSP has two different sizes of Red Glimmer paper adhered to it.

The sentiment is from "Oh What Fun"; the pearls coloured with a Cherry Cobbler Stampin Blendability.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Oh What Fun
Inks:  Soft Suede, Basic Black marker (eyes), White Ornament marker (markings on body), Cherry Cobbler blendability.
Papers:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, DSP (retired) - 2 patterns, Real Red, Gold Glimmer paper, Red Glimmer paper
Accessories:  Ginger bread Sizzix die, Dimensionals, Pearls

Merry Mittens - Tis the Season

After recovering from my craft show on the weekend I finally had some time to play with some framelits that arrived last week. After a warmer than normal October, the weather is cooling and soon it will be mitten weather.

After die cutting the mittens in Cherry Cobbler card stock, I layered them with Dazzling Diamond Glimmer paper.  I also die cut the little tabs and extended a silver cord from the tabs of each mitten.
A Dazzling  Diamond glimmer flower with a rhinestone in the center, was attached to each mitten
near the tab.

The mittens were adhered to a Whisper White art piece embossed with the Sweater embossing folder using dimensionals.  After matting it with Garden Green card stock it was adhered to the card front.

The card base is Cherry Cobbler, layered with Whisper White and then Be Merry DSP.

The sentiment stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink, is from "Oh What Fun", matted with Garden Green and added to the card front near the bottom.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Oh What Fun
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler
Papers:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Garden Green, Be Merry DSP, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper
Accessories:  Sweater Embossing Folder, Many Mittens Framelits, Dimensionals, Silver trim

Christmas in the making

Hurrah!!  The alcohol markers- Stampin' Blends are back!!  These high quality dual tipped markers come in 12 Stampin' Up colours, each with a light and a dark colour.  They are so easy to use and blend beautifully.  And what is really nice is that they are square, so won't roll off the table.

I used the markers to colour the image of this card.

The Cherry Cobbler card base is layered first with Whisper White card stock and then Christmas Around the World DSP. Some Cherry Cobbler ribbon is adhered to the card front at the center and a bow attached at the right side.

The image was coloured with the new Stampin' Blend markers  then die cut with an Oval die, and mounted on 2 Metallic Foil doilies before being adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Christmas in the Making, Oh, What Fun
Inks:  Black Memento, Versa Mark, Stampin' Blends (Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette), Cherry Cobbler
Papers:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Christmas Around the World DSP
Accessories:  Metallic Foil  Doilies, Layering oval framelits, Clear Embossing Powder, 1/2" Cherry Cobbler satin ribbon

Gingerbread Man Best Christmas Wishes - Try Stampi'n Or Not on Tuesday #342

This week's sketch by Kaylin for Try Stampin or Not on Tuesday has an optional theme of  mixing patterns.

I haven't used the Gingerman Die yet this season, although it's been sitting on my desk just waiting to be used. Today its patience paid off.

When I die cut one a Ginger Bread man  for this card, I die cut many more so I could make Christmas tags.  Ginger men are very popular in my craft shows.

I die cut the Ginger Bread man usingCrumb Cake card stock, sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink, make the white markings with a White Ornament Ball marker and added a Real Red heart and a Gold Glimmer bow tie.
To make the eyes appear black I adhered a piece of Basic Black card stock behind the head.

The Ginger Bread man was adhered to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using dimensionals.

The basic card is Crumb Cake, layered with Very Vanilla.  I use 2 different patterns from a retired Christmas DSP, added some strips of Red Glimmer paper and a Real Red notched banner.

The sentiment is from "Oh What Fun"

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Oh What Fun
Ink:  Soft Suede, White Ornament Marking Pen
Papers:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Real Red, Christmas DSP (retired), Red Glimmer paper, Gold Glimmer Paper, Basic Black card stock
Accessories:  Sizzix Ginger Bread Man die, Red Enamel Pears (non SU), dimensionals.
