A Goat Bringing Presents - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #485

A Goat is not usually associated with delivering presents at Christmas, but put a red scarf around his neck, a Santa hat on his head, and dangling an ornament from his mouth this Goat is all about Christmas. This Goat is friends with Rudolph.

I made this card was made for the sketch challenge with Try Stampin on Tuesday which has an optional theme of a Non Traditional Christmas.

The Goat was stamped on Whisper White card stock, coloured with Stampin Blends and fussy cut. His Christmas attire aka scarf, hat and ornament are compliments of the Christmas Moose.

The now Christmas Goat was adhered to a die cut piece of Seabreeze Spray card stock which had been  embossed with the Texture Embossing folder. Liquid Applique added around his feet make it look like he was standing on a cloud (although my intent was to create snow on the ground). This was added to the card front, at an angle, using dimensionals.

The card base of Seaside Spray card stock base is layered first with Whisper white card stock, and then a strip of Dazzling Diamond card stock. a strip of Feels Like Frost DSP (the metallic side) and finally a smaller strip of the patterned side of the DSP.  On this smaller strip is added a 1/4" of Seaside Spray cardstock upon which is adhered a 3/8" Metallic Seaside Spray ribbon.   A bow of that ribbon is adhered below the art panel.

The die cut sentiment strip is added to the left of the art piece.

Some blue adhesive gems added randomly finished the card.

Supplies Used:

Stamps;  Way to Goat, Merry Moose

Inks: Black Memento, Stampin' Blends (Gray Granite, Real Red, Basic Black),  Night of Navy

Papers:  Seaside Spray, Whisper White, Feels Like Frost DSP, Dazzling Diamond card stock

Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Texture Embossing Folder, Liquid Applique, 3/8" Metallic Seaside Spray ribbon, dimensionals., blue adhesive gems

Rustic Retreat - Try Stampin on Tuesday #432

Today I was at a Craft show in Lindsay where a team mate had a booth and I was surrounded with Christmas crafts, some traditional, some more rustic.  Christmas is coming closer every day, a fact the weather this week reminded me of rather briskly.  Heavy rain, intermixed with freezing rain made for somewhat difficult driving conditions.  But the trip was worth it.

Some of the Christmas decor reminded me of the card I made for the sketch challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday #432  which also had an optional theme of mixing patterns.

The patterns I used were from the Wrapped in laid DSP

In a 2" punched circle, I stamped the image of a rustic cabin which was coloured with Stampin' Blends and watercolour pencils with snow and glitter added to make it look wintery. BRRR!

This was adhered to a background of 3 different patterns of  Wrapped in Plaid DSP.

Three different colours of Stampin' markers were used to stamp the sentiment, which was punched with the Everyday Label Punch.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Rustic Retreat, Merry Moose
Inks:  Black Memento, Stampin' Blends (Shaded Spruce, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Smokey Slate, Whisper White, Seaside Spray) Stampin; Markers (Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Soft Suede)
Papers:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White,   Wrapped in Plaid DSP
Accessories:  2" Circle Punch, Every Day Label Punch, Puff Paint, SU Glitter

Merry Moose Christmas - Hand Stamped Sentiments #325

Winter came in with a Halloween Howl, with snow falling in many places.  The snowfall here was not much but the temperature sure did drop!  Halloween was ruined for so many children due to the inclement weather.  I hate the thought of winter coming.

However, I decided to make a winter scene featuring the Moose for the sketch challenge with Hand Stamped Sentiments #325

I started by creating the focal point of the card.

On a piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the larger pine tree with Shaded Spruce ink.  Then using  an Oval die the image was die cut partially leaving half the tree on the outside of the oval.  This outer half was fussy cut to free it from the rest of the card stock around it.  A smaller tree was stamped on the opposite side of the now die cut oval (on the inside) and stamped off twice.

The sky was coloured by blending Balmy Blue and Pacific Point watercolor pencils with an aqua painter  The snow flakes were stamped using Whisper White ink.

The snow on the ground was made more realistic by the use of Puff paint and Stampin glitter.

The Moose was stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock and punched with the Moose punch.  It was added to the prepared die cut Oval using dimensionals.  Footprints were stamped on the ground beneath the Moose.

The Whisper White oval was matted with a slightly larger Shaded Spruce oval, which was added to a rectangular piece of Wrapped in Plaid DSP.  This was added to a piece of Whisper White embossed with the Woodlands embossing folder.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Merry Moose
Inks:  Shaded Spruce, Soft Suede, Black Memento, Balmy Blue and Pacific Point watercolour pencils, Whisper White
Papers:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Shaded Spruce, Wrapped in Plaid DSP
Accessories:  Layering Oval Dies, Woodlands embossing folder, Puff Paint, Stampin' Up Glitter, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals

Moose in the Moonight

This single layer card features the Moose  against the background of a full moon.

Some non tacky tape was placed across the card stock to separate the two side.  On the left, after masking a moon with a post it note, the night sky was sponged with Seaside Spray, Pool Party, Pacific Point and Night of Navy.

Stars were stamped in the sky with Versa Mark and Stampin' Glitter added so that all you see are the twinkling stars.

The Moose is double stamped using Crumb Cake ink.  A Crumb Cake Stamp' Blend colours in some contrast.  After it is punched with the Moose Punch, it is placed against the moon.  Footsteps are stamped in the ground with Seaside Spray ink and Glitter Textture paste is added below.

On the right side, the Christmas sentiment from "Merry Christmas to All" is stamped in Night of Navy.  Three stars are randomly stamped in the same colour of ink.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Merry Moose, Merry Christmas to Sll
Inks:  Black Memento, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede stampin blend, Seaside Spray, Pool Party, Pacific Point, Night of Navy, Vers Mark
Papers:  Night of Navy, Whisper white
Accessories:  1 1/2" circle punch, Moose punch, Glitter Texture paste, Stampin' Glitter

Merry Moosemus

This snowy scene featuring two Moose taking a walk in the woods was created using the Moose stamp set and coordinating punch. It looks so cold I shiver looking at it

I started by stampimg the two Moose using the Stamparatus as a stamping tool .  The animal is stamped using a two stamp process.  It does not matter which is stamped first- the outline or the body, so I thought I would experiment. The male moose had the outline stamped first using Black Memento, followed by the body in Soft Suede ink; the female had the body stamped first, followed by the outline.  Surprisingly stamping the outline last gave the image a cleaner crisper look.

Both Moose were punched using the Moose punch and to make one of the Moose a female I cut off the antlers.

Mossy Meadow ink was used to stamp the trees. with second generation stamping used to create the lighter tree images. Using an aquapainter, I applied Smoky Slate ink lightly to the foreground followed by Seaside Spray.  Seaside Spray was also used on the sky after which snow was stamped and the two blended with the Aqua Painter.

The footprints of both animals were stamped in Seaside Spray after which Shimmer Texture Paste was added to mimic snow being careful not to cover up the foot prints.

After the two animals were placed, additional footprints, errrr moose prints, were added.  And, puff paint was used to create a snow storm.

This snowy scene was matted with Mossy Meadow card stock, and then added to a Mossy Meadow card base matted with Whisper White and a panel of Taken With Plaid DSP

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Merry Moose
Inks:  Black Memento, Soft Suede, Smoky Slate, Seaside Spray, Mossy Meadow
Papers:  Mossy Meadow, Whisper White,  Taken With Plaid DSP
Accessories:  Moose Punch, Shimmer Texture Paste, Puff Paint, Aqua painter, Stamparatus
