Haunt Ya Later - Inkspirational Challenge #94

The challenge this we at Inkspirational Challenge,  is a Halloween one.
To make this card I used the background of a card discarded by one of my students last night because she didn't like the way it turned out.  We were working with the Woodland Embossing Folder.
Sometimes one has to think outside the box.
When I saw this challenge I decided to finish the background for a Halloween card.

  • I first finished the background made using the Woodlands Embossing Folder.  The sky was darkened and I brayered the trees with Crumb Cake.  Then using an Early Espresso marker, I made shadows on one side of the trees.
  • Then I stamped a raven, some spooky eyes and some bats in the background. For these I used a combination of stamps:  "Among the Branches", & "Wicked Cool"
  • The image of the cat with the hat beside a pumpkin was coloured with copic markers and a bit of glitter applied.
  • The circle framelits was used to die cut the image, which was mounted on a Tangelo Twist scalloped die cut circle using dimensionals.
  • This was applied to the lower left corner.
Supplies Used
Stamps: Halloween Cat (Stampinbella), Wicked Cool, Haunt Ya Later, Among the Branches
Inks: Night of Navy, Soft Suede, Memento, copic markers, crumb cake, Early Espresso marker
Papers: Basic Black, Tangelo Twist, Whisper White
Accessories: Woodland embossing folder, Big Shot, Brayer, Dazzling details, dimensionals, Circles framelits.

Have a Fangtastic Halloween - Fab Friday #72

Using the sketch from the challenge with Fab Friday   I made a halloween shaker card.  Since SU does not have shaker frames anymore, I made my own using Fun Foam and the circle framelits.

  • I made the shaker unit first, die cutting the fun foam with 2 sizes of the circles framelits.  I die cut the window sheet with these framelits as well, as well as the Happy Haunting DSP.  The DSP cover for the frame was also die cut but using different sizes of Framelits to make it a bit wider.
  • The middle of the die cut  DSP circle was stamped using the " Haunt Ya Later" stamp set.  The shaker elements I bought in the dollar store (it has a lot of halloween shapes in different colours).  You can see some of the shapes in the close up.
  • The card is constructed of Tangelo Twist cardstock. layered with Very Vanilla cardstock and then Happy Haunting DSP.
  • A Spider Web doilie was adhered to the DSP using the Fine Tip glue pen
  • On top of this web is a strip of black cardstock with a piece of silver ribbon on top.
  • The shaker unit is adhered over top of that.
  • For the embellishment at the side, I punched a 1 3/4" circle in the DSP.  On a separate piece of Very Vanilla I stamped the cat image from Haunt Ya Later, coloured it black using a blender pen and markers, cut it out and adhered it to the 1 3/4" circle.  This was adhered to the left side of the shaker unit, with dimensionals on one side and adhesive on the other.
