Jingle All the Way - Freshly Made Sketches #212

I wanted to use the Delicate Ornament Thinlet Die to make the card for the sketch challenge with Freshly Made Sketches but do you think I could find the thinlets?  Noooooooo!  For days I looked everywhere, but could not find it.
Today, I cleaned the entire craft room, took all the stamp sets off the shelves, took all the embossing folders out of the drawers, as well as all the framelits, but it wasn't anywhere.  Finally I started taking items off the top of the cabinet, and there stuck at an angle towards the back wall were the framelits.
Well, I now have a clean craft room.

  • The basic cardstock is Night of Navy, layered with Whisper White cardstock.
  • On a separate piece of Night of Navy cardstock, the ornament was die cut.  In the center of the die cut ornament, I adhered the horse and sleigh. Two way glue pen was used to adhere Dazzling diamonds to the snow under the sleigh.
  • Dots of glue from the Fine tipped glue pen were randomy applied to the sky and dazzling diamonds added.
  • The ornament topper was die cut with the die topper using dazzling diamond glimmer paper.  Some silver cord was inserted through it, and then a bow was made and added to the top using a glue dot.
  • The completed ornament was added to a piece of Whisper White cardstock embossed with the Lucky Stars embossing folder using dimensionals.  This piece was matted with Night of navy cardstock.
  • DSP (Home for Christmas) was cut in the same dimensionals as the other piece.  It was covered with a piece of Dryer sheet and dazzling details, then matted with Night of Navy cardstock.
  • This piece of adhered to the card front, with the focal piece of added overlapping and slightly lower than the DSP piece (with dimensionals).
  • The sentiment is from "Jingle All the Way".

Sleigh Ride Ornament

After yesterday's numerous die cutting attempts I had some die cuts left over, so I created a whole different card - a sleigh ride ornament.

  • A piece of the left over trees die was adhered to a piece of Real Red cardstock.
  • On top of that I placed the sleigh and horse.
  • This was die cut in the shape of an ornament.  To do this I used  the open ornament from the delicate ornament thinlet die set.
  •  For the ornament top, I embossed with pewter embossing powder the topper from the "To You and Yours Too" stamp set.  This was hand cut.
  • The basic card is Real Red layered with an embossed Whisper White layer.
  • I adhered the ornament topper to the top of the ornament, with the string going to the top of the card.  To that I added a bow made with the silver cord string with a glue dot.
  • The sentiment is from "To You and Yours Too" and was adhered to the card front with dimensionals. Part of the sentiment was over the lower part of the ornament.

Black & Gold Delicate Ornaments

I just love black and gold together.  These delicate ornament framelits are in the upcoming Christmas catalogue - which you can order from starting tomorrow.  Yeah!!

  • The Basic black cardstock card base was layered first with gold foil cardstock and then Whisper white cardstock embossed with Gently Falling embossing folder.
  • A piece of Gold and white Vellum was adhered at the bottom of the card, and  some 3/8" gold glitter ribbon was adhered at the top of it.
  • The ornaments were die cut using the new Delicate Ornament Thinlet dies.  First I die cut a basic black solid ornament, and then I die cut the more intricate ones using gold foil.  I also die cut the pieces in the middle using Whisper white cardstock.  I used the new Precision base plate, a little nervously I must say, to cut these dies.  To my amazement it was quite easy.
  • Thank goodness for the new fine tipped glue pen.  It was a cinch to apply glue to these delicate pieces without getting glue all over the place.
  • After adhering the delicate pieces onto the solid black background, the centers were added.  To complete the center, I added a metal trimmed pearl.
  • Some gold cording trim extends from the ornament top to the top of the card.  I also tied some as a bow around the neck of the bigger ornament.
  • The larger ornment was attached using dimensionals, overlapping the more narrow one.
  • The sentiment is from "Wonderland".
Tomorrow all these wonderful products can be ordered.  In the meantime add it to your wish list.
