Apron of Love - a CASE - SUO Challenge # 194

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!

I CASE'd this card from page 47 of the Occasions Catalogue for the challenge with SUO here

The challenge was to make a card featured on one of 3 Stampin' Up catalogues currently available .  My card is not an exact copy but it provided the inspiration for the card I made.

The Apron of Love stamp set is a very versatile stamp set, and for this card I chose to make a masculine card with tools in his pocket because he was barbecuing for Valentine's Day. The inspiration for this card was featured on page 47 of the Occasions Catalogue.

The base card is a top fold Dapper Denim card layered with Whisper White embossed with the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder.

On a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, the image of the oven mitt was stamped randomly using Dapper Denim ink.  A 1 1/4" piece of this DSP was layered with Silver Foil, wrapped 4 times with Old Olive Baker's twine and then added to the left side of the card.

The apron was die cut with Dapper Denim, and the pocket in Old Olive card stock  A Calypso Coral banner stamped with the sentiment, notched at the bottom end, was added to the top of the pocket.
The BBQ tools were die cut with silver foil and added to the pocket of the apron.  Old Olive was also used to die cut the neck of the apron.

The completed apron was added to a piece of  crumb cake card stock, the edge of which was sponged with Soft Suede ink.  This was added to the card front at an angle.

Supplies Used;
Stamp:  Apron of Love
Inks:  Black Memento, Dapper Denim, Soft Suede
Papers:  Dapper Denim, Whisper White, Silver Foil, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Calypso Coral
Accessories:  Apron Builder Framelit Dies, Green Baker's Twine, Simple Stripes Embossing Folder, Dimensionals.

DAD

I realize that Father's Day is not until June, but this card isn't necessarily about Father's Day.  It could be for any occasion for anyone who calls themselves "DAD"

I must apologize for the cropped off picture.  For some reason my editing program was acting up this morning.  Maybe it's the freezing drizzle!

The letters for "DAD" were stamped on Very Vanilla card stock with Delightful Dijon ink, cut out, and the edges sponged with the same ink.  Each letter was adhered, at an angle, to some Basic Black card stock.  This panel was adhered to the card front using dimensionals. Metallic enamel hearts were placed inside each letter "D".

The basic card stock is Basic Black, layered with Very Vanilla and then Urban District Specialty DSP.  The latter was cut into 2 pieces, with each of the different sides adhered side by side.

The sentiment was stamped with Delightful Dijon on the same coloured card stock, notched at one end before adhering it to the card near the lower "D"

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Urban District
Inks: Delightful Dijon
Papers: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Urban District Specialty DSP
Accessories: Metallic enamel shapes, dimensionals
