Umbrella Baby Shower Card

Okay, so I like to play and I like to experiment - as long as I'm not in a time crunch!

One of the new products I have had a lot of fun playing with is the new Embossing paste and the decorative masks.

During my "play time" I made a number of  backgrounds and set them aside .....

Today I had an inspiration -

I needed a baby shower card, so I pulled out the "cloud" background I created on Pool Party card stock.  When I was making this background I embossed the Embossing paste with clear embossing powder while it was still wet. Note: To avoid "bubbling" of the paste, I did not heat emboss until the paste was dry.  The result? A wonderful glitter that can't really be seen on the picture below.

Using the  Umbrella Weather  framelits, I die cut an umbrella and an umbrella handle in Whisper White card stock.  I also punched numerous Itty Bitty flowers in Whisper White and So Saffron.

After adhering the umbrella and umbrella handle together I  layered  the  itty bitty flowers on the umbrella, completely covering it, overlapping the flowers for a full 3D look.  I let some flowers fall off the umbrella one landing on the sentiment. Small rhinestones were added to each floral center.  One can never have too much bling.

Before adhering the now decorated umbrella (using dimensionals) to the card front,  I tied a 1/8" Whisper White ribbon bow  around the handle, and added the same ribbon to the left side of the art piece.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Non SU
Inks: Black Memento
Papers:  Whisper White, Pool Party, So Saffron
Accessories:  Itty Bitty flower punch, Cloud Decorative Mask, Embossing paste, Clear embossing powder,  Umbrella Weather framelits, rhinestones, 1/8" Whisper White sheer ribbon, dimensionals, glue dots

Baby Shower card - Unscripted Sketches #218

Toronto sure got dumped on with rain yesterday resulting in the most severe flooding since Hurricane Hazel in 1952.  The whole city of Mississauga was without power; subway service was affected; people had to be rescued from the Go train by boat.  And Peterborough,  1 and 1/2 hours away did not get a drop of rain!  Thank goodness as I could not go through a flood again!

Some people have been allowed to return to their homes in a small Quebec town devastated by a 70 train car derailment and explosion on Saturday night. The run away ghost train was carrying crude oil. Half the down town was burned down; over 40 people are missing and presumed dead.  Most were probably in a bar close to the train tracks.  My thoughts and prayers are with the people of the town and those who lost loved ones.

This card is for my craft show this weekend.  Baby cards are like gold; it's hard to keep up to making them.  Right now I am short of baby shower cards, so decided to use the sketch challenge with Unscripted Sketches here to make one.

I wanted to use some soft colours so used the new In Colors - Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantalope
I stamped the images with the Pistachio Pudding using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to place them in a straight line.  Small rhinestones were placed in the little duck's eyes.

The image panel was matted first with Pistachio Pudding card stock, and then with Crisp Cantalope card stock.  Then I took a piece of 3/8" Pistachio Pudding ruffled trim and attached it to the bottom of the image panel, then stamped the sentiment underneath it.

The base card is Pistachio Pudding, layered with Whisper White card stock embossed with the Alphabet press folder.

The image panel was attached to the card using dimensionals.

The embellishments are buttons made with the new white simply pressed clay and coloured with a Crisp Cantalope marker.  A large rhinestone is placed in the center of the button.

Stamp: Embellished Event, Teeny Tiny wishes
Inks: Pistachio Pudding, Basic Black, Crisp Cantalope marker
Papers: Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Crisp Cantalope
Accessories: Alphabet Press folder, 3/8" ruffled Pistachio Pudding trim, White simply pressed clay buttons, large rhinestones, small rhinestones, dimensionals.

Rain or Shine Baby Shower - The Paper Players #143

I must apologize to all my followers.  I have not been posting very much as I have been very discouraged.  Since early last week I have been unable to use yahoo mail to send e-mails to the groups I belong to.  The mail comes back undelivered, with an error code, and a statement that the groups I belong to do not have a yahoo account.  I have been unable to determine what the problem is so have not been able to correct it.  All that is left to do is phone yahoo which I will do on Monday.
So, thank you for continuing to follow my blog posts, and out of curiosity, are my posts going to your e-mail inbox if you are an e-mail follower?

Today's post is a card I made for the Paper Players Challenge but the challenge has ended and I missed the linky.  But since the card is made, I will share it will you anyway.

This A2 card has a base of Pretty in Pink, layered with Whisper White which has been embossed with the Fancy Fan folder.  A strip of Sunshine & Raindrops DSP, layered with Pretty in Pink DSP is attached horizontally across the middle.
Three banners, one in Primrose Petal, the other 2 different patterns of the Sunshine & Raindrops DSP are attached at the middle of this strip extending to the right side.

Two Windows Frame Framelits were die cut in Whisper White using 2 different sizes - the smallest, and the next one up in size.  The edges of these were sponged using a stipple brush.
On the larges, I stamped a Pretty in Pink umbrella - using the stamp-a-ma-jig to place the handle (in soft suede). This was stamped at an angle. A second umbrella was stamped in a scrap piece of paper, cut out, and attached to the first umbrella using stampin dimensionals. Some Dazzling details was applied to each dot on the umbrella.  Baja Breeze rain drops were stamped under the umbrella.
On the smallest I stamped the sentiment, using a Baja Breeze marker.  Again, the stamp-a-ma-jig was used the place the words.  A row of rhinestones was attached underneath the word "Shower".

Here's a list of the material/supplies used:

Stamp: Rain or Shine
Inks: Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Baja Breeze marker
Papers: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink DSP, Sunshine & Raindrops DSP, Primrose Petals
Accessories: Window Frames Framelits, Fancy Fan folder, Stipple brush, rhinestones, dazzling details, dimensionals, stamp-a-ma-jig

Hope you enjoyed this card.
