One dreams of getting on a sailboat, out on the water, where the air is cooler than it is on land. The weather has been unbearably hot for the last 2 weeks, so hot that one was met with a blast of hot air when exiting the house.
For the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches #695, my mind was on a sailboat, so I pulled out the Sunrise Sailing bundle. I used a 5 by 7" card base because the sailboat image was too large for an A2 base.
Using a blender brush and Balmy Blue ink, I added a sky and water. Extra colour was applied to the water using wavy strokes. Then more defined waves were added by repeatedly using the wave stamp. Three birds were stamped in the sky using Basic Gray ink.
The sailboat was stamped on a separate piece of Basic White with Black Memento and clear embossed and thern die cut using the coordinating die. The sails were coloured with Poppy Parade stamp n blends; the boat with Azure Afternoon. Dimensionals were used to add the boat to the card front.
At this point I erased any pencil lines.
Two clouds were die cut from Basic White, lightly sponged with Balmy Blue on the bottom only, and added to the card slightly outside the image area.
The sentiment is from the stamp set. It was added with dimensionals to the bottom of the dome area.
An anchor embellishment with a small red bow attached to the top was added to the top of the sentiment.
The completed image layer was added to a 5 by 7" Azure Afternoon card base.
