I'm sure we are all shocked and sickened by the events at the elementary school in Connecticut yesterday. I have send them a card of sympathy and prayers hoping that somehow that might assuage the pain a bit - knowing the individuals involved are not alone in their grief. At the same time I am thankful that the carnage wasn't worse (it was bad enough) - and that was thanks to some courageous and heroic teachers. I couldn't help but think of my daughter who is a grade 4 teacher, and what could have happened to her and her students if this happened at her school. This is a thank you card for those courageous teachers who hid their students in washrooms, told them stories to keep them calm and saved their lives. This card is also a thanks to the brave first responders who I am sure will have nightmares for many nights to come. THANK YOU
